Doug Scott
Vice President, Fundraising Solutions & Grants, and Senior Consultant
Doug Scott is an executive leader with more than 25 years of community-focused, business development success, steering organizations toward impactful and purposeful mission strategies and goals. After graduating Fishburne Military School and attending the University of Louisville, Doug’s early career was in the for-profit business sector. Leveraging his entrepreneurial spirit, Doug launched a successful food manufacturing business and grew national sales into more than 3,000 retail locations.
Moving into the nonprofit sector 10-plus years ago, Doug brought his business development, decision making, and problem-solving skills to The Healing Place as the Vice President of Mission Advancement. As a key member of the executive team, he successfully led a $29 million capital campaign, oversaw a 100% increase in annual fund revenue to $2 million, and established new earned annual revenue of $1.9 million to diversify revenue sources and strengthen agency sustainability. Most recently, Doug served as Director of Development for River Heritage Conservancy where he raised $21 million in a capital campaign and established an annual fund for the organization.
Working and consulting for several nonprofits in the Kentuckiana region, Doug has provided leadership in all areas of comprehensive fund development, strategic planning, and innovative revenue generation. When not working on a capital campaign or developing a major gift or annual fund strategy, you can find Doug backpacking in the wilderness or fishing a quiet stretch of water.
