Laura Coleman Pritchard

In her 19-year career, Laura Coleman Pritchard has worked in advancement roles in nonprofits, higher education, and quasi-governmental agencies. She began her working life as an editor and writer for a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that serves elected officials across the country. She then worked for seven years in marketing, communication, and public/media relations for a museum and then her alma mater, Centre College. In this role, she served as the primary point person for international journalists during the 2012 Vice Presidential Debate.

Laura then transitioned into a new role, composing all materials for Centre College’s $200-million comprehensive campaign. After creating talking points and primers for frontline fundraisers, Laura took on a multi-state territory, beginning her career in major gifts fundraising.  For the last ten years, Laura has continued her career in higher education and major gifts fundraising, matching donors with their philanthropic passions while helping institutions accomplish their missions. She has extensive experience in securing major gifts, portfolio composition and management, crafting advancement materials, training gift officers, and working with donors from discovery to stewardship.

Laura received her bachelor’s degree in government from Centre College and her master’s degree in communication from the University of Kentucky. She volunteers for the Danville-Boyle County Humane Society, where she is past president of their Board of Directors. She also serves on the Kentucky Governor’s Scholars Board; the Kentucky Governor’s Scholars Foundation Board; and the Wilderness Trace Community Foundation Board.
