Theresa Zawacki
Vice President, Grants
Theresa Zawacki is a creative problem solver with broad expertise in nonprofit management, governance, grants/capital strategy and grantwriting, community development, and program development and management. Over her 23+ year career spanning the private, public, and nonprofit sectors, she has secured over $45M in grants for a wide range of topics from diverse funders including family offices, banks and corporations, local foundations, national foundations and financial intermediaries, the federal government through various agencies and direct Congressional appropriations, state government agencies, and local government.
Theresa has held appointed roles with Louisville Metro Government in community and economic development, has practiced law in the public and private sectors, taught land use law at the University of Louisville, and supported startup nonprofits and socially beneficial for-profit organizations as an outsourced executive team member, including co-founding and co-leading Russell: A Place of Promise, a nonprofit community land trust, through its startup and growth phases.
Theresa received her undergraduate degree from Transylvania University (Lexington, Kentucky), and her J.D. and Masters of Community Planning from the University of Cincinnati (Cincinnati, Ohio).
